What makes us decide we are living a happy life?
It’s a good question. Does the answer come from how you’re feeling right now? Maybe. Five minutes from now you might be unhappy.
From the moment we were born we’ve had our ideas and definitions of happiness defined for us. Our parents gave us a hug when things were good. We learned sometimes people get sad. A lot of what we’ve formed as a definition of happiness comes from the habits we’ve learned due to repetitive learning led by parents, teachers and the society in general. That is why, none of us has actually pondered about what exactly makes us feel happy! This feeling has been left to our subconscious and we simply feel the happiness according to the situation we are in.
So back to the question. What makes us happy?
A lot of small things can give happiness to us. For instance, just the thought of shopping or spending money might make you feel happy. A new job. A new relationship. Opportunities and new ideas can make us happy. Spending hours in solitude in a forest with a camera appeals to others.
